2025 August Winners
Thank you to everyone for your support and/or participation in this contest. It could not have happened without your support! I look forward to seeing you in the next one :-)
There were a few bumps along the way with AI-generated art, but overall we had a nice turnout for the 2025 August Art Contest and I am grateful for every single submission. It was a difficult process to narrow down the winners, but I thoroughly enjoyed everyone's take on this month's theme.
The 2025 March Art Contest's theme was Into The Quiet: "Slipping into a world of the unknown can leave you feeling uneasy. Dealing with change can shake the very foundations of life. How do we deal with change? How do we cope with losing one part of us while gaining another?
In this contest, explore what it means to fall into the quiet. How do you visually represent exploring a world devoid of familiarity? How do you deal with endings that don’t feel like endings? What do you do during the final moments before change erupts and envelops you?
This is about transition. The end of what you have known and the first step into what’s next. Whether you are letting go of someone, weathering a changing tide, or stepping into a chapter of stillness, this is all about what’s next. This is about moving into the quiet. This is about the endings and the beginnings."
I had fun and hope you did too. I look forward to the next contest and seeing everyone's work. Until then, enjoy our winners and honorary mentions!

The Space Between Worlds
I was drawn to this theme because, just days before reading it, I decided to drop out a week before the first day of college, realizing it wasn’t truly what I wanted. The rabbit represents me leaping from the familiar into the quiet, unknown space ahead. The path may be uncertain, but I trust it will form beneath me as I leap. Seeing this theme affirmed my decision and made me feel that I am truly on the right path, and creating this piece helped me process my unknown through drawing and reflection.

To Try To Change
Sometimes, you try to change, only to find yourself between what you want to be and what you want to leave behind. This piece is meant to demonstrate this idea, that change can be confusing because we can see parts of our old selves in new places.

A Helping Hand
I wanted to illustrate the absurdity, disorder, and lack of orientation that occurs during transitionary stages in my life. The two figures represent me at odds with myself, there are only minor appearance differences to represent constant growth. A hand extends one figure fighting the other up, showcasing how in these times of development it is often external forces that help to propel me into another state of being. “Quietness” is demonstrated by scratchy sound waves in the back slowly fading in and out, with both figures' mouths being covered or closed, however what I want to hone in is that quietness is not synonymous with lack of chaos.

The Quiet Growth
A reflection of the journey from childhood to adulthood — a boy drowning beneath the water reaches for his younger self at the surface. It portrays the struggle of growth, the fear of letting go, and the unbreakable bond between who we were and who we become. My intention with this piece is to capture the delicate balance between innocence and maturity, to remind viewers of the enduring connection with their inner child, and to explore the emotional weight of personal growth

The Deep End
The piece depicts a character readying themself to enter a dark pool. The character leaves behind childhood artworks and their parents while taking off a coat. I made this piece to represent my unwillingness and fear of growing up and leaving what was comfortable and familiar to me (my family and home) in pursuit of an unknown but hopefully fulfilling future.
