While this month's contest outcome was unexpected, my commitment remains the same: to shine a spotlight on the often-overlooked yet exceptionally talented artists in our community. This event is more than just a contest—it’s a celebration of creativity and artistic expression.

This month's theme, A New Year of Expectations, invited artists to explore the power of expectations in our lives. High expectations can be empowering, while low ones can be demoralizing. How do we navigate the despair of unmet goals in 2024? How do we nurture hope for our aspirations in 2025? Art has the power to express these emotions—hope, hate, love, and despair—in ways words cannot.

Though this contest had fewer theme-aligned submissions, I’m grateful for the interest and engagement it received. I look forward to continuing to create spaces where artists can share their voices and stories. Let’s keep making art that challenges, inspires, and resonates. 🎨✨

It represents the long way to go, the ups and downs of what it is about to come. You know it will be challenging and plenty of unexpected elements. An architect about to step in, what a better way to represent the journey than with long and bumpy stairs all over the place.
